About Our Practice
Unlike conventional medicine, which focuses on attempting to treat disease once it occurs, Rubin Chiropractic emphasizes improving your health in an effort to reduce the risk of pain and illness in the first place. Most people would rather be healthy and avoid illness, if they could. This is one of the main reasons for the big surge in the popularity of our wellness center.
The Body-Mind heals itself; It was developed through the intelligence of the genes. Genes are recipe. Lifestyles are the ingredients. The genetic recipe is perfect, but can only produce health if all the ingredients are supplied to express that health.
A Lifestyle that maintains or increases the Structural, Biochemical, and Psychological well-being must be “Optimized” regularly to achieve the human vitality that is given to us through our inborn or innate ability, and potential
Interferences that block or lower the function of the Body-Mind must be removed. Physiological stress and stress adaptation that changes the body’s internal function must be corrected to achieve health. The nervous systems responsibility is to control & coordinate the function of the entire body, plus adapt & relate to its internal & external environment. Chiropractic is a key ingredient in that lifestyle choice to help optimize the nervous systems ability to control and coordinate the Body-Mind’s vitality.
Meet The Doctor
Dr. Stuart Rubin is a doctor of chiropractic medicine and a licensed Applied Kinesiologist. Applied Kinesiology (AK) is a form of diagnosis using muscle testing as a primary feedback mechanism to examine how a person’s body is functioning. In general, the Applied Kinesiologist finds the muscle that tests weak, and then determines why that muscle is not functioning properly. The practitioner will evaluate and apply the therapy that will best eliminate the muscle weakness and help the patient.
Wellness Through Chiropractic
Chiropractic is about balance. It begins with balancing the body’s structure to ensure optimal performance of the nervous system. Rather than thinking of disease as something that just randomly invades a healthy body, chiropractors think of disease as evolving when all of the components for good health are not present. For a body to be healthy there must be good genetics, good structural balance, good nutrition, biorhythmic integrity and good emotional health. When these base components are not present, it sets the stage for disease.
Traditional Western medicine deals with symptoms. It is a great approach when the symptoms are severe or dangerous. If you get hit by a car, you may want the trauma team to work on you rather than have someone give you calcium to help you bones to heal.
Chronic health problems respond well to holistic care. Gastric reflux, for example can be controlled with a drug—complete with side effects. The holistic practitioner will look at the problem as the digestive system telling you that something is wrong and try to come up with a therapy that addresses the cause of the problem. The holistic care will not have side effects and it will ultimately help more serious problems from developing.
